  • Biography

    I am studying volcanoes since 2012. My research has been mainly focused on volcano-tectonic processes and their control on volcano deformation. Through field work and experimental analogue models, I have investigated spreading of volcanic edifices, intrusion-induced volcano deformation, and caldera collapse processes in basaltic shield volcanoes. The past two years this had shifted towards lava flow mapping and volcanic risk and hazard assessment connected to effusive / mildly explosive volcanic areas. Currently, I am again looking at intrusion-induced deformation through analogue models for my PhD-project at the Vrije Universiteit Brussel in Belgium.
