Simulations on Vhub

Simulations on Vhub

altComputer simulation (or numerical modeling) is an essential component, alongside field-based studies and experimental research, in advancing our fundamental understanding of volcano processes. In addition, simulations are increasingly important in assessing the hazards and risks associated with potential eruption scenarios. VHub supports simulations at two levels: (1) Some models, which are well tested and relatively simple, can be executed online via VHub, without needing to download code and compile on your local machine. (2) Other models, which are either in developmental phases or are very complex, are not available for online execution, but VHub provides a mechanism for collaborative efforts at code development, verification, validation, and benchmarking.

To take advantage of these capabilities you must be a registered user of VHub (no cost) and logged in to your account.
