Adriane Machado graduated in Geology at Uiversidade do Vale do Rio dos Sinos-Brazil (1993). Master (1997) and PhD (2002) degrees were obtained at Instituto de Geociências da Universidade Federal do Rio Grande do Sul-Brazil (Geochemistry field). Today, she collaborates in research projects of Instituto de Geociências da Universidade Federal do Rio Grande do Sul (Brazil), Centro de Geofísica da Universidade de Coimbra (Portugal) and Universidade Federal do Pampa (Brazil). She has experience as teacher in subjects of Geology Graduate and Postgraduate. She works in themes related to volcanic rocks from South Brazil, Azores Archipelago (Portugal) and South Shetland Islands (Antarctica). She develops research activities in Mineralogy, Petrology and Geochemistry fields, working mainly in the following subjects: petrography, mineral chemistry, geochemical and petrogenetic characterization of volcanic rocks.
