Abstract

CFU Pingu is a tool to plot the usual classification diagrams of mineral phases, based on PINGU code. The input is usually the microprobe analysis in wt% of a given mineral phase that CFU-Pingu recalculate as cations per formula unit and plot in the selected diagram. The use of the program is similar to the use of PINGU, and manuals can be found in its website. The spreadsheet with data is similar to PINGU's but with different order of elements and should have the following columns: series SiO2 TiO2 Al2O3 Cr2O3 Fe2O3 FeO BaO SrO MnO MgO NiO CaO Na2O K2O P2O5. supported mineral phases are olivine, pyroxenes, feldspars and Fe-Ti oxides... amphiboles are coming soon!
