This is a one hour 15 min lecture which is aimed at the Geology of the Keweenaw Peninsula and Isle Royale, where the Portage Lake Lava Series and the Copper Harbor Conglomerate are exposed and Earth's earliest known continental flood basalts can be observed in the field. The lecture is meant to orient visitors who are headed to the field in this spectacular geologic area where the Michigan Copper Deposits are hosted.
