  • Biography
Fabio Dioguardi was born in Bari (Italy) on 21/04/1982. He got the Bachelor of Sciences Degree with distinction in Geologic Sciences on 21/12/2005 at University of Bari “Aldo Moro” (Italy) with a thesis titled “Reconstruction of the dynamic parameters of the pyroclastic flows of Punte Nere eruption at Vulcano (Aeolian Islands)”. He then got the Master of Sciences Degree with distinction in Geologic Sciences on 18/07/2008 at University of Bari “Aldo Moro” (Italy) with a thesis titled “Large scale experiments on the mechanics of plumes and pyroclastic flows: conduit exit conditions, fitting parameters and scaling laws”. He got the PhD in Earth Sciences on 14/03/2012 at University of Bari “Aldo Moro” discussing the thesis “Explosive volcanic eruptions: from fragmentation to eruption columns. An integrated modellistic-experimental approach.” with a grade “excellent”. Thanks to the collaboration with the Physikalisch Vulkanologisches Labor (Universität Würzburg, Germany) during the PhD career, he got the additional international academic title of “Doctor Europaeus”. In the period 21/07/2004 - 28/07/2004 he worked at INGV Information Center (Stromboli Island, Messina, Italy) as a scientific guide. In the period 12/08/2005 - 19/08/2005 he worked at INGV Information Center (Vulcano Island, Messina, Italy) as a scientific guide. In the period 08/11/2008 – 08/01/2009 he worked as a research contributor of the Centro Interdipartimentale di Ricerca per il Rischio Sismico e Vulcanico (CIRISIVU), University of Bari “Aldo Moro” (Italy). The research activity concerned the modeling of volcanic conduit exit dynamics during explosive eruptions. In the periods 15/05/2009 – 23/05/2009, 06/05/2008 – 15/05/2008, 02/05/2007 – 08/05/2007 he contributed in running Large scale experiments on the dynamics of explosive eruptions organized by Centro Interdipartimentale di Ricerca per il Rischio Sismico e Vulcanico (CIRISIVU), University of Bari “Aldo Moro” (Italy). On 28/06/2012 he gained the state license to work as a Geologist at University of Bari “Aldo Moro”. He took part to the research project “PRIN 2009 – Study of the environmental impact and contributions to the chronology and the evaluation of the volcanic hazard in distal areas” directed by Dott. Roberto Sulpizio, University of Bari “Aldo Moro” (Italy). He is in the research unit UR4. UNIBA for the Italian Civil Protection project “Project V1: Probabilistic volcanic hazard assessment”, whose director in chief is Prof. Warner Marzocchi, Istituto Nazionale di Geofisica e Vulcanologia (INGV), Section Roma1 (Italy). For this project Dr. Dioguardi got a 1 year post-doctoral fellowship starting from 02/01/2013. From 20/12/2013 he got a paid scolarship at the Fabio Dioguardi was born in Bari (Italy) on 21/04/1982.
